River Creek is a boarding and riding barn on 86 acres along the river with mountain views, just west of Kingsport on US-11W in Church Hill. The drive is about 15–20 minutes from Kingsport, about 40 minutes from Johnson City and about 40–45 minutes from Bristol.

That gives senior portraits, engagement photos and family pictures a real barn, open pasture, river water and a ridgeline to work with. Photographs on the River Creek site were taken by Havana's Camera, so the photography page shows the spots as they actually look.

Session options and prices

Photo sessions on the property start at $95 (Golden Hour Mini: $95, 1 hour, up to 6 people; Full Session: $175, 2 hours, up to 12 people), and a horse with a handler can be added for $150.

Sessions are booked in published date windows on the photography page, so pick an open window that suits the light you want.

Choosing your spots and your light

Each spot on the photography page map has its own look and its own best time of day.

The barn aisle works at any hour, even in hard midday sun. The pastures are best at golden hour along the fence line or on an overcast day, the round pen in late afternoon with the mountains layered behind it, and the water in the morning before the wind.

A horse with a handler can be added to a session, whether it is a senior portrait, an engagement photo or a family picture with a horse in frame.

Every horse at River Creek works within daily session limits and scheduled rest days, and that includes horses in photo sessions.
